Nishan Chilkuri is a broadcast journalist and documentary filmmaker based in London, working for MailOnline. He reports on politics, conflict, diplomacy, Middle East and South Asia. He is a member of The Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House and the Founder/Publisher of IndiaThinks. 

IndiaThinks began in 2018, as a digital news platform coveringIndian politics, breaking news, human interest stories, and interviews. As the Editor, he led a team of four and directed two seasons of 'Your vote is a weapon', a political public opinion show with 30 episodes focusing on the 2019 General Elections of India and the 2018 Assembly Elections of Telangana State, with a particular focus on constituencies in Hyderabad.

Nishan also conceptualized and featured in over 250 1-minute news videos as part of the 'All in a minute' series made for Instagram. The videos received over four million views across platforms, with more than 15,000 subscribers on YouTube.

In London, Nishan produced a five-part interview series with global public health experts and virologists on Covid-19 developments in the UK and India. He also covered Palestinian and Colombian protests and reported from Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle during the funeral and mourning period of The Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip.

In addition, Nishan started The Gospel Truth Newspaper in 2013, which has a readership in over 54 countries, with 50,000 subscribers on social media. He also ran a photography service in Hyderabad, India, following his certificate course in photography from the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU).

Nishan holds an MA in Broadcast Journalism from City, University of London, a B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTU), a PG Diploma in Cyber Laws from the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad, and a certificate in Film Appreciation from the Film & Television Institute of India.

Moreover, Nishan was invited to speak at multiple leadership sessions for students by the National Service Scheme of India and Rotary Club International in different states of India. He has also hosted a TEDx conference and was a delegate at two editions of Deccan Diplomacy, a conference on economic diplomacy organized by the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt of India and the Indian School of Business.
